LOCAL 651 MEMBERS PROTEST WISCONSIN GOV. SCOTT WALKER'S VISIT TO KENTUCKY 

About 70 Local 651 and Local 89 members stood in the rain on September 8, 2011 to protest Gov. Scott Walker's visit to Kentucky.  The Wisconsin governor was in Kentucky to endorse Republican Gubernatorial candidate David Williams.  Teamster members and retirees were there to show support to the working families of Kentucky and to let Mr. Williams know that there is no place for Gov. LOCAL 651 MEMBERS VOTE TO JOIN THE OHIO TEAMSTERS STRIKE FUND

Local 651 members voted on April 17th to join the Ohio Teamsters Strike Fund.  Secret-ballot voting was held in Lexington, London and Prestonsburg so all members had an opportunity to vote.  Members voted in favor by a margin of 88% to 12%.  We are now among the 70,000 rank-and-file members in 10 states that participate in this fund.  The cost to each member is only $1.00 per month.
